Sen. Scott Brown....

I got up this morning and tuned into WCAP as I do everyday and heard that Sen. Brown would be at M.L. Shaws at 8am in Dracut. I decided to drive over to M.L. Shaws not only to see the Senator but to see my friend Warren Shaw and his crew as I have become friendly with them not only through my last two campaigns but my work with them for the Salvation Army fundraisers. I enjoy going to the remote locations that they broadcast from because it fun to see everyone.

I have seen Sen. Brown four times in the last two years and I'm always amazed at the response he gets. He draws people to him that I have only seen from professional ballplayers and rock stars, and the media is all over him.

What is it that draws people to come from as far away as Manchester N.H. and Haverhill Ma. to take a picture or get an autograph, they are not all Republicans. I watched him work the room and he took time with everyone he met and left them with a smile.

If you agree or disagree with Sen Browns political views you will have to agree he is a celebrity.

  2. Senator Kerry once came in the Owl Diner while I had breakfast at the counter. He went right into the dining room to gather around people he knew, no meet and greet for the regular folk. I know dyed in the wool Dems struggle with Brown because he is a real person and someone we need right now, hope you got to say hi to him.

I did have a chance to say hi to him and asked about possible earmarks in Washington for flooding issues in Rosemont Terr.
He took my information and put it in his barn jacket...will see what happens...He is a nice guy.

  4. I know someone from the Orlando area, who thinks there isn't a dime's worth of difference between the Senator and the challenger.  Basically said that in an EMail exchange last week.  While I don't always agree with the Senator, I do think he is a good expression of the views of those of us in the Commonwealth who think the Reid/Pelosi Team would follow the Keynsian trail right off the cliff.  The Presidential race is the glamour race, because it is nation-wide, but the Senate and Lower House races are the keys to our future.  I like the Prom King, and his Queen.

  5. I don't think I could be friends with Scott Brown. His value systems is nothing like mine. We could probably manage a couple of pints with small talk, but he comes across as more of a Country Club guy that can fake a smile while slumming it. We are not alike. Nor am I likley to be friends with Liz Warren. We are not alike, either. What I like about Warren is that she knows the game is rigged against the middle class. Brown is a cheerleader for Wall St.

US Senator is a job. We need to hire someone who is qualified to deal with governing at the highest level. In DC there are wolves in political leadership, both parties. Then, there are the lobbyists. We should take care to send a high caliber person. It can't be all brain, there needs to be heart. Brown is lacking in the brains dept.

Is he a nice enough guy? Sure. If we were holding a pep rally, he'd be swell. The girls dig him and the guys admire him. The wolves and lobbyists take this kids lunch money down in DC.

If a US Senate election is no more than a big popularity contest and Brown is a rock star? Know this. In Beatle terms, he is Ringo.

To say that Sen. Brown is lacking in the brains dept. is a bit much. Did you forget he is an officer in the Army? You don't get there being a dummy. As far as being friends with Warren and Brown, no they won't be inviting me to Thanksgiving dinner but I like to see the human side of politicians also. Kerry.... I can't even relate to.

  7. "he is an officer in the Army"

    Paul,
He is JAG. An Army lawyer? I don't go to doctors with Caribbean med school diploma's, either.

It's okay to play with Ken Dolls, Cap'n. It's 2012.

Kerry is a stiff. He's not like us. That is a good thing. Governing is hard. When was the last time you used a differential equation, Paul. Do you want to go out for a beer with the person that calculated the gravitational vector of the earth on the space station?

I know plenty of opinionated people. They know EXACTLY what the US policy towards Syria should be. Hell, 3 beers later they could do Sec. Clintons job.

Stick them on a podium and they shrivel.

Teabaggers will squawk like governing is easy. That any fool could do it. That's where folks like Sarah Palin and Scott Brown come from.

Bill Clinton would walk away, leaving the crowd glowing. Then he would orchestrate some superior political manuever that would leave his rival's heads spinning. That is the total package.

Brown is a lightweight. He is constructed by consultants and spin masters. He is an empty suit, that folks project themselves into. They wish him to be what they want to see in a US Senator. Then he goes down to DC and works to make the Koch Bros happy.

  8. It's okay to play with Ken Dolls, Cap'n. It's 2012....funny Jack

The question I'm asking Jack is what is the phenomena surrounding this candidate? Two years ago when he came to Lenzi's Dems. and Rep. were fawning and eager to shake his hand and take a picture with him. He drew over 500 people in that building. The last time I saw anything like that was when Clinton filled the Lowell Auditorium.

    Just asking.......

  9. It's Americans being scared about their future and thinking Brown is somehow the answer. This area has always been center right, so Brown makes sense on the surface. But, we are working class folks and Brown is an upper class shill.

Ask Brown if he supports the "Right to Work" movement sweeping the red states.
